Conversation With Brig Hart of Global NetMark -- Conclusion

Track Back Part I

Track Back Part II

I inquired of Brig -- what happens as his organization continues to grow, and the large meetings become like they used to be, with tens of thousands of people in attendance. Charging the fees that were charged at this last event, would add up to millions of dollars of profit being generated, eventually.

I was very encouraged by Brig’s reply which was; “We will reduce the cost of tickets, to make costs more reasonable for the Distributor.”

Brig is a business man, and he is a very successful business man at that.

My perception of Brig’s beliefs -- as related to charging for training is this -- as long as it offers value to the end user -- it is a commodity that is justifiably sold within the Free Enterprise System. Not only does he believe that charging for training is an acceptable business practice -- he also says motivation and training is a must have component that will determine success or failure in any type of business. Therefore, as long as you keep prices reasonable, it is a business within the business and there is no way to build a world-wide sales organization without such systems.

Brig did make it very clear to me -- that he would keep costs reasonable to provide his organization with the latest and most technological advanced training systems available. There is a large investment that one must make in order to build international support systems. Brig also said that he would try and make as much as he possibly can available for free on www.BrigHart.com.

As related to such -- Brig or whomever is providing the training and promotional business support systems must be able to recoup their costs.

Currently Brig hosts several audio links and text training programs -- that make up the Global NetMark Training System.

Unfortunately, we have seen recent proof -- where Bo Short tried do build a Network Marketing Business without any type of meetings and/or professional training systems and was unable to build a sustainable business model.

Conversation With Brig Hart of Global NetMark -- Part II

Track Back Conversation With Brig Hart of Global NetMark -- Part I

The topic of my conversation with Brig Hart, was establishing reasonable profit margins in Network Marketing tools and how they will be marketed through Brig’s field organization -- Global NetMark.

Within the Network Marketing Industry for the last several decades, tools and the problems that surround them has been and continues to be a legitimate concern.

I wanted to know Brigs views and long-term vision -- in terms of tool profits in the MonaVie Product Business centers behind the scenes of a MonaVie Distributorship. I am trusting that Brig has a honest heart, and has witnessed enough of the Amway and/or Quixtar catastrophes that he will stand against any abuses.

I was very candid with Brig in regard to my personal -- anti-tool business philosophy.

Side note~ I am not against tools to build a business. I am against the mammoth profit centers that have devastated this industry. I am specifically against the side businesses, which have been built transparently -- behind the scenes by the kingpins within this industry. Many of the industries biggest sales organizations have amassed huge fortunes from squeezing the life out of the average distributor -- through massive promotion and sales of motivational tools.

Understanding that Brig was raised in Amway, where these systems continue unchecked -- I asked Brig to share his current day, personal views as to what direction he is leading his sales organization into the future.

Brig was very patient with me, and continued answering all of my questions to my satisfaction.

I came right out and asked -- "Where is the money going that comes from his tools." ( i.e., meetings, CD’s, DVD’s, etc.)

Brig told me that so far he has only broke even on his last meeting that was held this month in St Augustine FL. The numbers that he reported attended the paid event, were far less than I imagined. ( The fee was $150.00 for an all-day event at the PGA World Golf Village, including 2 meals or $100 without the 2 meals.)

My comment to Brig, was -- "People aren’t willing to pay to support the systems like we all did in Amway and/or Quixtar. Hopefully everyone has learned their lessons."

I made it clear, that myself as well as others who I have communicated with -- all want to be assured that we are not supporting the growth of those type of profit centers (motivational businesses) that were built in Amway and/or Quixtar.

Stay tuned for the conclusion of -- Coversation With Brig Hart of Global NetMark

Conversation With Brig Hart of Global NetMark

I spoke on the phone today with Brig Hart for over one hour.

Brig personally sponsored me into MonaVie as a Distributor, after I found him and asked him to do so. Brig is also the owner of Global NetMark -- a independent field training support system.

Brig Hart is a Network Marketing legend, as he originally joined the industry way back in 1978.

Brig, was a young surfer -- living in Jacksonville Florida, just down the road from where I currently reside.

In order to afford his Amway Kit -- it has been said, that Brig sold his wet-suit, and surfboard and jumped into Network Marketing with both feet.

Over the next couple of decades Brig’s Network Marketing waves were responsible for generating over 5.5 Billion Dollars in sales volume for the Devos and Van Andel families, who own Amway -- now under the Alticor umbrella of companies, DBA Quixtar.

During his involement with Amway -- Brig also generated multiple millions of profit for himself and his own company. We are not talking a few million, but more to the tune over 100 million or better.

Recently, within the last year, Brig has come out of retirement from his very successful career with Amway. He now has a new goal of becoming a “Billionaire” through his involvement with MonaVie. Brig also announces regularly and publicly, that he hopes to help 1000 people become millionaires -- utilizing the MonaVie Compensation Plan.

From what I know thus far -- Brig has a good hart and gives generously along his trails of success. I gather -- from hearing Brig speak about his goal to make a billion dollars -- is that he wants to help solve some of the worlds most significant problems. Feeding starving children and building a MonaVie School through the MonaVie M.O.R.E. Project -- is but one of Brig Hart's current and upcoming passions. Providing aide -- so that no child goes hungry is but one thing I have heard Brig say. These are the things that he would do with that sum of money.

You can read all about Brig Hart and his Network Marketing career here at his website.

MLM Tools -- What Is What -- Who Is Who -- Part III

MLM Tools -- What IS What -- Who IS Who -- Part I

PART II

Now -- PART III

Unfortunately, this industry of direct sales - has been overrun for decades with the tool businesses and their abuses within the organizations.

One of my main reasons that I originally joined Passport, was because I knew Bo Short was speaking out -- against such corruptions.

My goal then -- as it still remains today -- is to inform people that a direct sales business can be built -- without the added expenses that these tool/motivational businesses cost the struggling new distributor.

Most new people that join the MLM Industry are courageous and trusting people. Their purpose for getting involved in MLM is usually to pursue the freedoms of Free Enterprise, and creating additional streams of income.

Everyone should be given a fair opportunity.

I was also part of the Quixtar Organization that Dave Robinson's belongs to -- prior to joining Passport. I was not directly involved with Dave, as I was crossline from him, but we shared the same system and upline.

Most people who follow MLM on the Internet, are familiar Dave Robinson's On The Road With Dave.

For anyone who is not -- Dave is a Quixtar IBO whom is building his business without participating in any sort of Quixtar tool and/or motivational systems.

I guess you could say -- that my goal -- is to become known as the Dave of MonaVie.

See new subtitle of this Blog -- My M.O.D.E.

The problem I have had and I think Bo and possibly Dave have/had, (as we have evidence as of late) -- is I found it near impossible to build a sales organization without some type of face-to-face motivational team support. (Dave has recently posted a goal of 1 more year -- to become profitable, or he has announced his Quixtar Quit Date.)

Now, before your blood-pressure soars about my motivational comments -- let me explain briefly.

I believe in support and motivation in any business -- especially a sales business --but I believe such should be offered free or "AT COST."

Sales Companies have sales conferences frequently, and they have proven to be beneficial, to increase sales and overall productivity.

As Independent Distributors -- paying to cover the costs of attending a night, full day, and/or weekend of entertainment and comraderie, is not something I am opposed to completely.

These type of events should be totally optional, without any guilt and/or group redicule for not participating. All cost should be nominal.

Some people do not enjoy big meetings, and some do -- so what.

However, if the promoters are netting tens of thousands of dollars -- We are VERY much opposed.

Comments and/or experiences?

MLM Tools -- What Is What -- Who Is Who -- Part II

Back Track to MLM Tools -- What Is What -- Who Is Who -- Part I

Part II

Prior to us deciding to promote the MonaVie Opportunity -- we at JET Enterprises -- informally spoke to both the Founder-Dallin Larson and Vice President-Henry Marsh of MonaVie.

We directly questioned their opinions on the subject of allowing Independent Field Organizations to promote tools, events, and motivational materials, while capitalizing excessively off of MonaVie's Independent Distributors.

These gentlemen both assured us that they would NOT allow MonaVie to become laiden with the type of tool abuse systems that have been publicized in the MLM Industry over the last few decades.

They also told us, that MonaVie would offer sales and promotional tools, but always at a reasonable fee to cover costs. They seem to be doing just that -- with the "MonaVie The Story" selling for $1.50 on VCD, and "Introducing MonaVie" DVD, for $2.00 as examples. These two videos are also offered online -- free of charge -- to anyone in the world.

Great job Gentlemen!

Interestingly enough, after speaking with Henry Marsh-VP of MonaVie -- about the specific abuses that exist within Am/Quix, he requested that I email him information of the specifics of such tool scandals. Surprisingly, Mr. Marsh -- seemed to be unaware of the specifics -- as related to Amway/Quixtar Motivational Organizations and the controversies surrounding such.

I included links to Qblog, as well as Scott Larsen’s website, along with links to most all of the relevant websites that expose such corruption within the MLM industry.

Am/Quix spoke out in the early eighties and were unable or unwilling to stop the Amway/Quixtar Motivational Organizations = AQMO's of Field Distributor Teams tool businesses.

Side Note ~ How any MLM Corporation prevents Independent Distributor Field Organizations from building tool/motivational systems -- I am not certain.

However, we at JET -- pledge to do our part -- to make the corporation aware, by reporting such abuses when/if we become aware.

Any suggestions -- please post them in the comments.

MLM Tools -- What Is What -- Who Is Who -- Part I

From what I have learned thus far -- within the MonaVie Opportunity like with any MLM Opportunity, there are different Lines Of Sponsorship = LOS.

Within these different LOS, you will find an assortment of tools and support systems -- which are made available to Distributors to support their efforts to build a business.

Therefore, to be clear -- there ARE support tools that are available within the MonaVie Opportunity.

There are sales tools that are available from both the MonaVie Corporation and the Independent Field Organizations.

Most are promotional sales tools that I have seen, i.e., Product Brochures, CD's, DVD’s which support both -- building Retail Customers and/or a Team of Distributors.

What I have also seen so far -- is that these type of sales-aids are being offered very close to cost (from what little I know about producing such -- although, I have already seen some exceptions, that are obviously overpriced-imho.)

These few exceptions that have been noted, have been from either Independent sellers of MonaVie Promotional Materials and/or Independent Distributors themselves, not MonaVie the Corporation.

I think that it is very important for people to understand that Distributors in any MLM opportunity are exactly that -- "Independent" and they can choose what tools and/or support systems they utilize to promote to their Independent Sales Organizations -- if any.

IMHO -- People have 2 major Sponsors to chose once thet make the decision to use MLM as their business model.

1) Corporation Sponsorship - Integrity, Values, Vision, Leadership/Founders, Experience, Online Presence/Technology, Product, Product Development, Research/Medical Boards, Brand Image/Promotion, Expansion, Compensation Plan, Issuing Commissions, just to name a few.

2)Field Support Sponsorship - Integrity, Values, Vision, Leadership/Founders, Experience, Training and Support Systems Specifics including Costs of Delivery of Training/Support, Online Presence/Technology,
Just to name a few.

What did you seek when you joined a MLM Business?

Passport Perspective

Previous Post here on M.O.D.E. Bo Short's Passport will dissolve MLM component.

M.O.D.E has been linked from Qblog, under the link - "A Passport Associate's perspective on the company's changes." Even though I think that it is clear to most that I am not promoting the Passport brand, and have not done so -- for about 2 years now.

Anyhow, I giving the circumstances, I felt the need to post some of my perceptions as to what I think happened to bring Passport to it's current decision to dissolve the MLM component.

I knew that something had to change, and I knew it would happen very soon.

Here is the email I sent to Ty Tribble - Passport President as my official announcement to him that I would be promoting MonaVie. Notice the date on my email to Ty, October 30, 2005.

Hello Ty,

I wanted to check in with you and tell you I enjoy reading your blogs and have been really enjoying the ones where you and those other 2 guys post headlines, and clips, and snips. I actually pass through those, daily. Now that I have started blogging I am finding that I need to start adding something to those I visit often. I have been the quite troll I guess for a long time watching things develop. I don't cause any trouble, so I guess it is okay to be a quite troll...LOL Anyway!

Looks like you have become a Seth Godin fan. I remember referring that book to you during one of our first conversations. That is awesome, Seth is a pretty neat writer.

Ty, it seems that you have a lot going on. I read from MLMblog, I think -- that you were moving into a office, and were doing some ebaying, that is what I think I understood?

What is your main direction? I am not sure what all you are doing, but know you seem to be very busy. What are your plans with Passport? I appreciate your efforts and know that you have tried to get Passport business going, and maybe it is doing well for you? I hope it is. I know you must have learned a lot from your experiences so far. I enjoy learning from you.

Well, I wanted to just give ya a heads up, that I have most recently gotten involved with Brig Hart, (do you know of Brig?) I tell you that, only to ask you if I can link to some of your posts on MLMBlog from time to time? I have started blogging, although I need some tips, I am horrible at the tech side of the web. You seem to have that part figured out. How is the Semma Blog Project going, I would be interested in chatting about that project.

I would appreciate your time Ty, and would like to join up with you in some other capacity online possibly.

Look forward to hearing from you -- maybe we can chat on the phone sometime when you have a sec.

Some of my personal perceptions of Passport and what led me to pursuing another opportunity with MonaVie;

Bo Short the founder and CEO of Passport, recently returned to his profession of Motivational Speaking, and focused his attention to hosting a syndicated Leadership -- Radio Show.

Bo’s public involvement with Passport had become minimal and transparent after the initial seasons of Passport, other than his monthly leadership conference calls.

Bo then appointed a President of Passport (Ty Tribble) and a Vice President(Dave Stone.)

Ty launched "The MLM Experiment" registering as a Vemma Associate and hosting a blog representing Vemma. (Vemma is a functional fruit beverage MLM. The experiment was/is supposedly established to test whether a business could be built using only a blog to build a business with Vemma. As of today, it is still live -- last post November 11, 2005.

Passport University was launched, and nothing really ever happened there, other than posting conferences calls.

Ty announced recently that he was going to re-launch his online Passport Community, which did not happen for some reason.

There was announcements of updating the Passport back-office, with new features, which never happened.

Another puzzling event, was that Ty also partnered with Dane Carlson and started a Business Opportunities Blog -- BOB Blog posts headlines and posts from other blogs, press releases, etc. including headlines of multiple home based business opportunities and varying topics.

Lastly, Passport has been using several different third party motivational speakers, and MLM gurus to appear as guest speakers on their conference calls.

From my perspective, these events were signs of the struggling attempts by the company officers to get some form of a system established within Passport. I respect their ongoing efforts. However, in my opinion they were never able to consistently secure an image of stability and directional leadership image for Passport.

It seems that I was not alone in my skepticisms. There also appears that there were just too many inconsistencies , to build confidence among the other Passport Associates, to justify keeping the MLM component afloat.

My main concern is -- What happens to the persons volume, who built an organization with Passport?

Hopefully, for the sake of people that did invest their time and energy to build a Passport Sales Organization (business) with Passport -- Bo will be place them in a favorable position within his line of sponsorship within Oasis.

I feel very confident that Bo Short will continue to do the right thing in spite of having to make some very difficult decisions in regard to dissolving Passports MLM component and current business model.

I also think that Bo and his leadership team deserve great accolades for trying their best to rid the Network Marketing Industry of the tool schemes -- by providing free training and at-cost or free support tools for building a Passport Business.

I guess one could make the case even stronger now, that you have to have motivational systems within a MLM Business Model, for it to work.

What is your take on this, please leave a comment?

Passport is hosting another conference call tonight (Tuesday 11/22/05). I am sure thatmore questions will be answered during that call.

Stay tuned~

Bo Short's Passport -- Will Dissolve MLM Component

Many of us have wondered what direction Bo Short's Passport was headed.

Saturday, November 19th, 2005 -- I along with all other registered Passport Associates received an email from Bo Short the CEO of Passport LLC.

Prior to Bo Short sending out an official announcement Saturday afternoon, announcing that Passports MLM component will officially be dissolved in the near future (date to be anounced at some point) -- I stumbled onto to a post of Ty Tribble's and read this link "Passport LLC to Partner with Team Oasis" in an online discussion forum. This statement/link was posted within Ty Tribbles signature line, proceeded by this comment;
"There is a reason that a former Quixtar Executive Diamond and about five former Quixtar diamonds are now with a different specific company."
(Myself -- as well as everyone else who ever joined Passport are all officially registered as Passport Associates, as Passport has never had any annual renewal fees.)

Even though Passport has announced dissolving the MLM component, Bo made it clear that Passport would continue offering products to Associates at a major discount, in order for Associates to continue to service their customers.

Snip~

“Rest assured that the high quality Passport products will still be available to you and your customers. However, we will dissolve our multi-level compensation plan and offer our products directly to you at a major discount. You will be able to service your customers (and your own household) and make more money in the process. I will send a separate memo detailing this shortly.”

It was also disclosed that the Passport Leadership Team was joining Oasis Life Sciences.

From what I understand -- they are joining Oasis as distributors with ex-Amway Executive Diamond -- Marshal Douglas and ex-Amway Diamond -- John Terhoun as their uplines.

Ironically enough, several days ago I wrote Ty Tribble an email and informed him of my intent to build my business, using MonaVie as my new product supplier. I also informed Ty that I intended to stay enrolled with Passport.

As of today, I have still not received a response back from Ty. I have wondered why I had not heard anything back from him, as he and I have communicated openly in the past. Maybe these changes had something to do with Ty not responding back to my email.

Quixtar -- Do Their Good Deeds Rectify Their Wrongs? Part II

My view is that Quixtar could have infiltrated the AQMO's tool business early on and helped save a lot of people from the abuses of the AQMO's. Severe financial and emotional damage has been done across our nation and the world, from these AQMO success systems delivering everything but success. For the majority -- 98-99% never actually find success with Quixtar, as is preached from stages, tapes, and videos.

The major portions of the money made from Quixtar IBO’s businesses are generated from their tool revenues, not soap, toothpaste, etc. There are a few law suits that are exposing this as these tool schemes continue to implode. Stay tuned~

what obligation/responsibility do you think Quixtar has to protecting their IBO's from the illegal pyramids schemes which these tool businesses continue to operate? (Please note, that I am not labeling Quixtar is an illegal Pyramid Scheme -- I am referring to the tool businesses exclusively -- which are operated independently from Quixtar=Products Business.)

Regardless of my view or anyone else’s -- the fact that they gave this $100,000.00 to the US Dream Academy is praiseworthy. Amway/Quixtar continues to do one thing right when it comes to giving a small share back to the community.

For this, I commend Am/Quix.

Here is the clip of recent news regarding Quixtar:

Quixtar -- Do Their Good Deeds Rectify Their Wrongs? Part I

Amway/Quixtar have always done their share when it comes contributing back to the community. These acts of goodness and charity have influenced many people’s lives throughout their history.

Everyone has heard of Amway’s many years of contributions to Easter Seals, which is only a small part of their humanitarian efforts and contributions worldwide.

For their magnitude of exemplarily charity work and fundraisers, I say -- Great job Am/Quix!

There is a lot of controversy surrounding Amway/Quixtar on these boards and off these boards. Many times I get involved, because I feel I have an obligation to share my experiences with those who may be pursuing and/or contemplating involvement in the future. My family and I have been negatively affected by business practices of the Am/Quix Motivational Organizations -- as well as many of our closest friends and relatives.

Much of the controversy is fueled by Amway/Quixtar’s responsibility and obligation to protect its Independent Business Owners = IBO’s from their top distributors tool businesses.

What you have to understand is that Quixtar is a product supplier and contracting company for the sales organizations of IBO’s. The AQMO's which live inside the sales organizations of distributors are run independently, with no contracts.

Therefore, we are actually discussing two very different businesses when we are discussing the Quixtar Opportunity.

The AQMO's are where the major corruption and controversy is usually found.

You may then question my major discontent with Quixtar -. Quixtar, formerly known as Amway has allowed the AQMO's to run unethical tool businesses for decades now -- knowing the magnitude of the severe problems -- directly related to such.

A Quixtar IBO is independent distributor for Quixtar -- so, there are the arguments in favor of allowing Free Enterprise to exist uninterrupted. So many come to Quixtar’s defense, as related to the rights of the IBO to run their businesses as they would chose to do so, without corporate interferences. (Even though they know that unethical business practices are being promoted.)

Amway was founded on these very principals, Amway stood for -- The American Way, and so they have always been very devoted to establishing and upholding the Free Enterprise systems.

What do you think about this as a Quixtar accountability issue?

A ‘celebrity’ at 14, she is now fighting for a normal life

By XANDRIA OOI

A celebrity at 14, she is now fighting for a normal life

AT a glance, 30-year old Poesy Liang looks to be at the peak of her life and career. In reality the extraordinarily talented interior designer is in pain. She has Intradural Thoracic Meningioma, a tumour steadily growing in her spinal cord.Sad is her story, especially for a girl whose life began to soar when she was only 14 years old.

Chosen to be the Levi’s 501 Girl as she began her teenage years, Poesy propelled to greater heights as a television commercial talent, singer, professional MC, VJ for the RIM Chart Show on NTV7 and writer. Her credits did not end there.

Poesy practising her calligraphy, a skill she picked up when she was still a child.
She went on to become a motivational speaker for a multi-level marketing company, a marketing manager, futures trader, then completed her diploma in architecture, did an MBA degree, studied law, and finally set up her own interior design practice.

Then, her health got in the way.

Poesy’s symptoms began to show when, fresh out of Bukit Bintang Girl’s School and into the first year of studying for a diploma in architecture, her legs began to buckle under her. She was only 17 years old.

“I used to take the bus to school, and I found it difficult to stand,” said Poesy. “When I walk, my legs would not move with the rest of the body.

“I would fall without any warning,” she said.

Lost Distributor -- Reward For Her Sponsor

I just started with a company that has a call center and all I have to do is learn to market my call center number. email me at xyz@yahoo.com if you want info. I am a wahm and I just got astarted in mlm or nwm.

My suggestion is for you ditch this website and invest your $8 Bucks a month on some used books on Amazon.com every month.

Find a mentor who knows how to succeed and who is building an organization of distributors and who are creating real sales volume from the sale of real products.

Avoid cons selling their secrets to success and marketing gizmos, i.e., websites, CD's, leads, etc. Most of these people have never built an organization of any kind. They are simply salesmen, selling a product that is usually nothing more than hype packaged as success systems.

Do not pay for training unless it is accredited by a college or similiar institution. Anyone can become a guru online, be very careful who you asscoiate with and what you buy into.

You can find books that will teach you how to build a business, and establish a network of customers -- no matter what your product is. As for buying books, be sure to get referrals from credible sources, and pay close attention to the previous buyers reviews. You can even read sections of most books on Amazon, before you purchase, so you can get a good idea of the content and the authors style of writing.

Seek out books that teach the fundamentals of how to effectively build relationships while networking online/offline. Learn what is working for small businesses, which is any type of permission based marketing strategies, which promote networking.

Avoid any mass marketing, cookie-cutter approaches which sound neat and easy. Like your $8 one-size-fits-all website that someone has sold you.

Seth Godin has authored some really good modern day marketing books, one of my favorites is appropriately titled -- Permission Marketing. Seth also hosts a blog at http://sethgodin.typepad.com.

Your upline should be assisting you, so that you are not having to post ads on discussion forums.

People understand you are new and they will ignore your ads for the first few times, but soon these ads will become a real nuisance, and you or your ads will NOT be welcome in these online communities.

By reading and getting an education on what the marketing conditions are like, you will hopefully be able to come to discussion groups and help people starting out such as yourself. By you offering help and not trying to "recruit" in the communities -- both online/offline -- you will begin to attract people to you.

Once you learn how to gel instead of sell, you will begin building your most important brand -- which is YOU.

People will then ask to join your business.

You will no longer need to solicit them with your ads and $8 per month magical marketing website.

Networking Versus Selling -- What is the difference?

I see some sites saying that there is no selling, no parties, etc but if Network Marketing is selling something, don't you have to talk to people to sell? I listened to the PPL video and I heard them saying you get out there and spread the word to get people to subscribe to the service. So this is selling right? is there anyway to have a MLM company without having to be out there and verbally selling your product to people?

“No Selling,” is just another deceitful MLM pitch that attracts some of the vulnerable people that initially look to join a home based business and/or Network Marketing business model..

This kind of marketing appeals to the naïve and uneducated as related to business. Therefore, your attrition rates are very high -- usually around 80% or higher, because of the type of people this attracts to your business.

With any legitimate business, sales have to be made in order for their to be profits generated. No profits are made until a sale is made -- in ANY legal business model, period.

I don't know if people here have heard of Primerica, but I have been stopped my at least 15 people in the last 2 years. Every time they stop me I’m rolling my eyes in my mind thinking oh no not another one! I don't want to be one of those sales people that people dread stopping them. So I guess I’m asking, is this what MLM is making it probably the wrong business for me? And lastly is MLM and network marketing the same thing? thanks all!

There are many different ways to sell products and many different methods to introduce products/services to the marketplace. Obviously stalking strangers, and cold calling is not effective forms of marketing, as you are clearly pointing out through your illustrations.

Multi-Level Marketing simply is a term to describe how the commissions are paid out to the sales force within a given compensation plan. Pay plans in all businesses either pay out on single levels and/or multi-levels.

Network Marketing is simply a term used to describe the methodology of how we should be acquiring customers and or other sales distributors.

When you network with people, meaning hang out with, and contribute something with no strings attached, and no sales pitch, collaborating on ideas -- that is a form of humans networking together.

Networking means to connect with, hopefully as this post is connecting you and I through your questions.

Me posting this reply, is a form of networking. People do business with people who they trust and know --not some stranger with a self-promoting sales pitch.

That is why websites do not sell anything per se, and why blogs have become so popular. Blogs provide a networking environment -- which in turns creates trust, and then marketing occurs on the back end.

If you learn how to Network, you will never have to be associated with the typical MLM stigma.

As a matter of fact, the better you become at networking, the more difficult is for people to even now you are selling anything. Networking is an art form, and most people in Network Marketing have never been introduced to networking.

Kind of ironic don’t ya think?

Quixtar, What About The Next 30-40 years?

Question from j r.

“For those of you who know Quixtar really well, I wanna hear from you as to where you think Quixtar will be in next 30-40 years. Plus, do you think saturation is an issue? Will there always be people who haven’t heard about this MLM company? I really like the concept and I was just researching as if I should get started with them or not.“

THANKS!

j r,

My personal take on this matter is -- I agree with what Rich Devos said in the Directly Speaking Tapes.

Rich spoke to the folks back then, and told them that if they (the Am/Quix Kingpins) did not stop the tool abuses then, the Amway business would not be around in the years to come.

The Directly Speaking Tapes, were recorded over 20 years ago now!

There is valid reason, as to why Quixtar was invented, and why the Amway brand was terminated in North America.

As the lawsuits and the Internet are proving more every day -- The Kingpins never took heed and listened to the corporation, instead they went forward from the eighties and built the largest tool schemes in history.

For the first time, since the launch of Quixtar on 9/9/99 -- Quixtar has reported a 3% loss compared to the previous years sales volume.

Is this a sign of the inevitable beginning to occur?

Realistically thinking here -- It has taken over 20 years to get to the point where the AQMO's businesses are finally starting to be exposed publicly.

So, all things considered, there are serious reasons to be concerned about the future of Am/Quix over the next 30-40 years.

Alticor has very deep pockets with many government agencies and magistrates in their corner, so it will still take some time yet. More on latest Quixtar Arbitration issues.

We all have our opinions, and mine is that -- NO -- they will not be around, at least in their current business model -- the end has occurred already for Amway in North America.

Quixtar's days are limited as well....

The Internet has already saved many lives from becoming ruined through their involvement with the Am/Quix MO's, by exposing them for what they truly are.

All The Best!

What is Network Marketing -- Do I Have to Sell Anything?

I answer some questions from RDPD board;

Quote:
I see some sites saying that there is no selling, no parties, etc but if network marketing is selling something, don't you have to talk to people to sell? I listened to the PPL video and I heard them saying you get out there and spread the word to get people to subscribe to the service. So this is selling right? is there anyway to have a mlm company without having to be out there and verbally selling your product to people?

“No Selling,” is just another deceitful MLM pitch that attracts some of the vulnerable people that seek to join a home based business and/or Network Marketing business model.

With ANY legitimate business, sales have to be made in order for their to be profits generated. No profits are made until a sale is final -- in ANY legal business model, period.

Quote:
I don't know if people here have heard of primerica, but i have been stopped my at least 15 people in the last 2 years. Everytime they stop me i'm rolling my eyes in my mind thinking oh no not another one! I don't want to be one of those sales people that people dread stopping them. So I guess i'm asking, is this what mlm is making it probably the wrong business for me? And lastly is mlm and network marketing the same thing? thanks all!

There are many different ways to sell products and many different methods to introduce products/services to the marketplace. Obviously stalking strangers, and cold calling is not effective forms of marketing, as you are clearly pointing out through your experiences.

:: TeleSeminar Secrets :: Tested Tactics To Sell From Your Seat ::

I am looking to gain knowledge and experience with holding free tele-conferences on the web.

If you have any experience in this area, please get in touch with me, and/or post your experiences in the comments section here on M.O.D.E.

:: TeleSeminar Secrets :: Tested Tactics To Sell From Your Seat ::

It is the age of wisdom, it is the age of foolishness

In Charles Dickens's A Tale of Two Cities:

It was the best of times, it was the worst of
times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of
foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the
epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it
was the season of Darkness, it was the spring of hope,
it was the winter of despair, we had everything before
us, we had nothing before us

Any similarities to the world we live in today??

Internet Buzz Phraze -- Relationship Marketing ??

There is a lot of buzz on the Internet about
"Relationship Marketing" pertaining to building
relationships, before trying to make a quick sale.

We will explore on M.O.D.E. the advantages of
networking with others. There are unlimited
possibilities that await us, when we take our minds
off making a sale and focus on lending a helping hand,
to someone in need.

The really neat thing about building online community
through Blogs, Forums, etc. Is that you can develop
real, solid relationships.

As you hang around and become more active -- over
time, you will discover a lot of common interest and
ideas along the way if you remain open and willing to
learn from one another.

Within good content based discussion groups
(communities) there should not be direct selling of
ANYTHING during the discussions.

Quality groups will be sharing "general" information
that can and will provide you with some solid
solutions -- as applied to business or whatever your
interest may be.

Here on M.O.D.E. Blog, we place emphasis on web-based
home businesses, and how to build a sales organization
online. We focus on building a relationship before
pursuing a partnership.

We also discuss why it is best that small business
owners build their businesses with little to no
advertising cost - instead build
customers/distributors through good ole networking.

Please note up-front, we will from time to time be
discussing the fundamentals of building a business. We
are not discussing taking on a job for someone else.

If you choose to build a business, doing so will be
one of the most challenging yet rewarding feats you
will ever attempt your life.

Now, don't over-complicate things, just try and be
persistent and never give up.

When building a business, we are dealing with our
inner abilities to lead and influence others. This can
be an awakening for many people, as they realize that
people are not eager to accept change and come out of
employee mentality.

To adopt new thinking strategies as a business owner
can be more difficult for some than others. Many say
one thing, yet do another.

Keep in mind, that most of us have been trained to
this think a certain way our entire lives. Usually,
most people are taught to be loyal followers, great
employees, etc. The the rules and mentality of a
becoming a business owner is much different from those
of that of an employee and/or follower.

John Maxwell's 21 Irrefutable Laws of Leadership does
a excellent job of illustrating the steps that a
leader goes through in order to build self and an
organization of any type.

The journey of business ownership can also be very
rewarding as you challenge yourself to grow both
intellectually and emotionally.

All of the posts and comments will be archived and so,
we can use them to share with others in the future.

All comments and questions are encouraged.

We ask that you try and remain polite, and don't take
things personal. Pay attention to the messages, more
so than messengers.

We should try and omit specific names of companies
whenever possible.

The more people engaging here in this conversation,
the more value our Blog becomes, so please don't be
shy, and remember there are no dumb questions or
comments, except the one you didn't post. ;-)

Dr. Perricone Plan "KEEPING IT SIMPLE"

Dr. Perricone plan prevents weight gain, aging - Health - MSNBC.com:

Snip ~

"KEEPING IT SIMPLE"

Some scientists and researchers believe that many of the health problems of today are caused by our departure from the hunter-gatherer diet, which consisted of nuts, seeds, berries, wild greens, roots, fruits, fish, fowl, and game. This is a fascinating theory and I do agree with the premise that natural, unprocessed foods are always the best choices. To be healthy and maintain normal weight we need all of the food groups but not those that come from the laboratory. Our protein source needs to be pure, fresh (when possible) wild fish and other seafood, and free range chicken and turkey that are hormone and antibiotic free. Our carbohydrates need to be fresh fruits and vegetables, preferably organic. And we need good fats, such as those found in salmon, sardines and other cold-water fish, extra virgin olive oil, nuts, seeds, avocado, and acai (a Brazilian berry whose fatty-acid ratio resembles that of olive oil). These good fats will help us absorb nutrients from our vegetables and fruits, keep our cells supple, our skin glowing and wrinkle-free, our brains sharp, and our mood upbeat. We also need dietary fat to burn fat.

By upsetting the delicate balance with extreme fad diets and ridiculous concepts, whether it is no-carb or no-fat or whatever, we create ongoing physical and mental health problems, including obesity, accelerated aging, and wrinkling, sagging skin. It is no coincidence that the rise of antidepressants such as Prozac occurred during the nonfat food craze of the 1980s after all, our brains are comprised mainly of fat, and when we starve our brains of valuable nutrients, we become depressed. Salmon, with its rich complement of essential fatty acids, has been shown to be an excellent treatment for depression. Some studies have shown that it is more effective than powerful drugs in treating depression — without the side effects (moderate regular exercise is also great for depression — especially when combined with the salmon-rich anti-inflammatory diet.)

Our goal is to strive for balance, and to use common sense when planning a meal. But how does it all really work? The next several chapters will explain the science behind my revolutionary concepts, and how you can make them work for you.

The Next Millionaires explains in detail why the 21st century will be known as the age of the entrepreneur, and how you can stake your claim to being one of these next 10 million millionaires--especially if you are in direct selling, technology, home-based business, product distribution, or an emerging trillion-dollar industry like wellness. It explains how old models of opportunity in physical distribution have given way to new opportunities in intellectual distribution, defined as teaching people about products or services that they didn't even know exist. And, drawing on Pilzer's 33 years of experience as an entrepreneur and employer, it explains how to use your past to find your place in the new economy and your ticket to becoming one of The Next Millionaires.

Seth's Blog: Mine, ours, everyone's

Below is a snip and a link from Seth Godin's Blog. Godin is not in Network Marketing.

However, he knows how to network -- which is essential to the survival of any business model.

Do you think Seth's analogy applies perfectly to what we are doing as a team in Network Marketing.

I know for me I have been re-involved now for 2 weeks today, and I already am experiencing mine to ours. The ours consept is why I have such a passion for Network Marketing, I am not into mine.

"The lesson of the response we're getting (people waited in line for almost an hour to get books signed) is that the project went from being mine (for about a week, while I thought about it) to ours (as I signed up each of 32 co-authors) to a tool for all of us (as I watch the book getting used in ways I never intended, by people I don't even know.)"

Why Networking Is Different From Selling - Part III

If you missed Part I and/or Part II -- scroll down and read first to follow flow of topic;

All Network Marketing companies must create retail sales volume to be in compliance with FTC Regulations.

With that said, in this series we are focusing on "Networking" versus "Selling" aspect of sponsoring someone in NM.

We Build Businesses When We Build Relationships

Since we are in the "relationship" business, we must develop our communication skills and become better at building trust -- Not becoming become quicker, more clever, or manipulative to close our deal.

The "Sales" Person makes a sale, and he is gone!

The "Sales" Person thinks his job is done when he enrolls someone.

The "Sponsor" enrolls someone, and his job has just begun. He will be there for him after he signs up, to help and train and encourage.

So now we decide to sponsor one of the ninety-five percent that are NOT "Sales" People -- they will need a system for training non-sales people.

This is why I would encourage you to create systems that teach people how to build trust.

The Internet has done a wonderful job of teaching/forcing mass marketers, to learn how to network. If they refuse to learn how to network, they usually retreat offline to sell their business opportunity.

Our profession is not referred to as;

Net-Pitch
Net-Sale

It is referred to as;

Net-WORK

That certainly doesn't mean don't have a good time while building a prosperous business. Networking is very rewarding, and a lot less stresful than selling, but it does require a concious effort to help others and get out and do something to make the world a better place. ;-)

All The Best!

Jerry Giebeig

Please share comments, this is a great topic for discussion.

Why Networking Is Different From Selling - Part II

If you missed Part I -- scroll down and read first to follow flow of topic;

All Network Marketing companies must create retail sales volume to be in compliance with FTC Regulations.

With that said, in this series we are focusing on "Networking" versus "Selling."

Non-Sales People Advantage

People come into Network Marketing as non-sales people. These type people have an automatic advantage over sales people, day one.

However, what happens is that many sponsors -- immediately start trying to take the advantage from them, by training them to become good sales people.
:-/

I personally would rather sponsor a non-sales person over a salesperson in Network Marketing, any day. Sales people (this would included me, it is my personality type) have a more difficult time of not "closing" sales when dealing with people in business.

When networking, remember you are not selling.

Your goal when networking, should be to meet people, help them out in some way, make friends, and contribute something to their lives, with no obligation to join your business.

Let the attraction process happen naturally through building a relationship based on trust and respect.

Relate sponsoring in Network Marketing to dating; When you go out with a person whom you have just met, do you ask to got to bed with them within a few minutes of meeting them?

Of course not, as a matter of fact the more time you spend getting to know one another and determine compatibility -- the more likely you are to get married and have a successful relatiosnhip, some day. Hopefully, marriage is when the sleeping would begin. ;-)

The best people in your business will join you, because they liked "you," not because they were SOLD or CONVINCED.

There is no advantage to closing sales in Network Marketing, ever. You would be better off, throwing their starter package in right into the fireplace, than to make a quick sale in NM. At least it will warm up the living room for a few minutes.

They joined because they trust you.

Therefore, when you sponsor someone you are taking on a responsibility. Take it serious.

Why Networking Is Different From Selling - Part I

All Network Marketing companies must create retail sales volume to be in compliance with FTC Regulations.

With that said, this article will focus on the "Networking" versus "Selling."

Most Network Marketing distributors that I have had relations with, have one thing in common. Their most influential decision for joining a particular NM Opportunity, was NOT because of -- Compensation Plan or the Product.

What the majority reported -- was that the SPONSOR was their main reason for joining a particular organization.

They "trusted" the person that presented the opportunity and they joined the sponsor.

Therefore there seems to be some topic for discussion;

Why is it that most NM Associates are always looking for the "perfect" marketing system to "pitch" their opportunity?

Why are they taught to have a hyped up sales pitch, to attack people who may be browsing at bookstores, malls, etc?

Why are they taught ot overcome sales objections to when they join a Networking Business?

Why are they taught how to "close" people? If you are looking for a business partner in ANY type of business, do you really want to "close" him?

Here is where I see most people in NM experiencing frustration and confusion.

"I am doing what my upline is instructing me to do, why isn't it working? Why are people running from me, when they see me coming?"
